Man falls into well

A 49-year-old man from Mellieħa was injured after he fell a height of just under a storey into an empty well at an area known as Tat-Tomna at his hometown yesterday morning.

The police said the man was doing some repair work on the well when, for some reason, he lost his balance and fell to the bottom of the empty well.

The man was recovered from the well by Civil Protection Department personnel and taken to hospital in an ambulance.

The police said his injuries are not life-threatening but the man was kept in hospital for further treatment.

Police investigations continue.
