It's a kind of magic!

The lights will shine in a vast array of colours at this year's Students' Festival, organised by the University Students' Council (KSU).

The record 17th curtain call will be held at Sir Temi Zammit Hall today and tomorrow.

KSU culture and entertainment coordinator Sean Buhagiar said: "In this year's festival, we are reiterating the need to showcase the students' vast artistic streak in order to attract both young and the not-so-young. The performances range from dance numbers to the comic farce, bands to classical recitals and a medley of all-time great musicals."

Every student gives the absolute utmost to ensure everything runs smoothly: from stage light cues to sound checks, to coordinating the back-stage team. No stone is left unturned.

Striving to make true that perfect anecdote that all will be all right on the night, Mr Buhagiar said: "We have taken extra care in adopting the right professional approach. That is why we have asked the dance masters of YADA to feature in the all-important opening and closing acts of the show." Over the years, promising talent bloomed out of the Students' Festival and, undoubtedly, this year will be no exception as students will be given the opportunity to prove that their talents transcend the lecture theatres and that they are also artistic and creative beings able and willing to showcase their talents on stage.

The shows start at 8.30 p.m., but the audience is requested to be seated by 8.
