Four arrested in conjunction with call for violent protests

The police said that four persons were arrested in conjunction with a text message being forwarded to hunters, encouraging them to bring their weapons and petrol to a protest being held tomorrow.

In fact, Assistant Commisioner Josie Brincat warned that the protests the hunters are being called to attend through SMS is illegal and is not covered in a permit, making it a criminal offence to attend such a meeting.

While condemning all acts that bring violence and vandalism, the "hunters of good will" are passing through a bad moment indeed...their hobby (fejn kienu jqattghu siegha zmien) is pending and that is not fair for them.

I invite the authorities to decide quickly, for its better a yes or a no than something which is pending. If they were going to hold the hunting in Spring, why did the government still issued a Lm35 licence if he knew he was going not to give permission in Spring. Neither that is fair!!!

The news mentioned confiscation of protected species also, the excuse of "a handful of anarchist hunters" is so lame, maybe a very very large hand .....
well done to our police, maybe malta`s honour can one day be restored when this bad joke is all over.. and the wishes of the large majority respected..

Are these people insane ? It's good to get to know who they are !!!! The last thing we need is a protest, not with the situation we're in at the moment. One thing i cannot understand, and that is why didn't the hearing at the ECJ, regarding the interim measures, take pleace earlier??? All this could have been avoided.
