Home and Green exhibition opens at Ta'Qali
Eighty exhibitors are taking part in the first Spring Home and Green Exhibition at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta'Qali.
The exhibition was opened yesterday by Social Policy Minister John Dalli and remains open till Sunday.
On display is a wide range of products including home furniture, soft furnishings, light fittings, kitchens, white goods, plants and foliage The green element is also reflected in energy saving products.
Anita Attard, CEO of the MFCC, said preparations are well underway for the MFCC to host the International Trade Fair of Malta for the first time. She said preparations had been delayed somewhat by the uncertainty caused by the general election but momentum had picked up again and exhibitors were showing strong interest . Apart from the tension fabric structure, the organisers, in consultation with the exhibitors, will also be building a trade fair village to accommodate more participants, Ms Atatrd said.
Richard John, an international consultant on fairs and exhibitions was brought to Malta recently to train MFCC staff and meet exhibitors.
Following the current fair, the MFCC will host the Amitex travel fair between April 24-27.

Many thanks Mr. Galea for informing readers that the Green Exhibition has nothing green at all! I was planning to go today and your comment has made me change my plans.

The name of this fair is rather misleading. I visited yesterday expecting to see a 'green' fair, and was surprised to find more of a furniture and upholstery fair than anything else. There was only one stand selling pots and plants. What happened to the 'green' fair with gardening centres, agricultural supplies, pet supplies, etc?
