Hold-up at Tarxien warehouse

An armed and hooded man yesterday held up the owner of a warehouse in Tarxien and stole a few hundred euros.

The police put the amount at not more than €800 (Lm343.35). The theft occurred at about noon in Triq Ħal Tarxien.

After receiving the cash, the man, who was armed with a firearm, retreated to a waiting vehicle being driven by another hooded man. The vehicle, which had been stolen, was found by the police later.

No one was injured in the incident but a woman who was inside the building suffered from shock.

Magistrate Tonio Micallef Trigona appointed a number of experts to assist in an inquiry he has opened.

Police investigations continue.
