Dalai Lama backs Beijing Olympics
The Dalai Lama, Tibet's spiritual leader, said today that despite the situation in Tibet, he still believed that China deserved to host the summer Olympics.
China was an ancient country with the world's largest population, he said. He had always felt it should host the Olympics, and he still held that view, the Dalai Lama said.
