One month jail

A19-year-old man was imprisoned for one month yesterday after he pleaded guilty to breaching bail conditions.

Rittmar Hatherly from Floriana pleaded guilty to breaching his bail conditions in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Floriana.

The court heard that Mr Hatherly had been granted bail against a deposit of €466 (Lm200) and a personal guarantee of €2,330 (Lm1,000) on June 18, 2007 by Magistrate Lawrence Quintano for stealing from a Floriana shop. He subsequently admitted to breaching his bail conditions and was imprisoned.

Police Inspectors Anthony Portelli and James Grech prosecuted.

Lawyers Josè Herrera and Veronique Dalli appeared for Mr Hatherly.
