Hold-up at Tarxien warehouse

Two thieves escaped with under €800 in a hold-up at a Tarxien warehouse (and not Qormi as previously reported) at about noon today.

The police said an armed and hooded man entered the warehouse and demanded the cash, while a colleague waited outside in a getaway car.

The car was discovered abandoned shortly after.

No one was injured but a woman who had been in the warehouse was treated for shock.

Magistrate Tonio Micallef Trigona is heading an inquiry.
