Roberto Donadoni said he wants to stay on as Italy coach after Euro 2008 despite rejecting a contract extension last month that was linked to the world champions' performance in Switzerland and Austria in June.

"My aim is to continue working with the Italian national team. I have never hidden this, I would like to. I don't have anything else in mind," Donadoni told reporters.

"All my efforts are focused on the European Championship. I don't have a crystal ball and I can't say what my future will be. My ambition is to take this project forward."
