Microsoft Malta Ltd launched Microsoft's next wave of innovation software during a one-day seminar entitled "Heroes happen {here}".

Business Decision Makers, IT Professionals and Developers in Malta had the opportunity to experience the Windows Server 2008 operating system, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft Visual Studio®2008, and interact with top international software experts.

Karen Carter, Director of Marketing, Microsoft US, who was the keynote speaker, explained the aim of this campaign and how the next generation of Microsoft software will help ‘IT heroes' in Malta.

Microsoft Malta Ltd also invited four international software experts. Each gave a presentation and held different workshops with the delegates present.

Michael Leworthy, Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft US, conducted three presentations and workshops on Windows Server 2008 Overview & Windows Server 2008 Web and Applications Technology. Goran Djambic, Executive at Keito Sistemi D.O.O., addressed Developers and presented two sessions related to Visual Studio 2008; Reach End users with next generation web applications and Rapidly create End Users Applications.

Gunther Beersaerts, Enterprise Tech Strategist at Microsoft, delivered three presentations to IT professionals and Developers; Build Data Applications with SQL 2008, The SQL 2008 Business Intelligence Platform and Manageability Features in SQL 2008. Athanassios Kladakis, Network Manager - IT Security Manager at Logifer Informatics Applications addressed a session related to Windows Server 2008 Security Technologies.

Addressing the assembly, Pierre Mallia, Country Manager, Microsoft Malta Ltd, said: "In today's ever growing Global Business Environment and Digital Work Style, IT departments face challenges to provide rich, connected capabilities across the infrastructure, while protecting both the environment and its confidential data from intrusion and disruption."
