A man and his son yesterday pleaded not guilty to stealing from shops in Valletta on March 31 at night.

Carmel Grima, 39, and Cedric Grima, 18, were charged with causing over €1164.69 (Lm500) in damage to the Ritz Arcades in Republic Street, Valletta, stealing over €232.94 (Lm99.97) in cash from the shops Zucchero and L'Italiano and associating in order to commit a crime.

Carmel Grima also pleaded not guilty to relapsing.

Police Inspector James Grech prosecuted. Lawyers Joseph Giglio and Stephen Tonna Lowell appeared for the defendants.
