13 nominations so far for casual elections

A total of 13 nominations by 10 candidates were submitted today for the casual elections due to be held next week to fill Parliamentary seats vacated by candidates elected from two districts in the general election.

The nominations were:

Second district:

Seat vacated by Dr Michael Falzon (MLP): Duncan Mifsud

Third district:

Seat vacated by Helena Dalli (MLP): Owen Bonnici

Fifth district:

Seat vacated by George Vella (MLP): Joseph M. Sammut

Sixth district:

Seat vacated by Charles Mangion (MLP): Saviour Schembri

Seventh district:

Seat vacated by Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando (PN): Tony Abela

Eighth district:

Seat vacated by Alfred Sant (MLP): Anthony Bugeja, Edward Zammit Lewis

Ninth district:

Seat vacated by Robert Arrigo (PN): Michael Frendo, Karl Gouder

Tenth district:

Seat vacated by Evarist Bartolo (MLP): Joseph Cuschieri

Eleventh district:

Seat vacated by Dolores Cristina (PN): Michael Frendo, Karl Gouder

Twelfth district:

Seat vacated by Tonio Fenech (PN) Tony Abela

Nominations will continue to be received by the Electoral Commission throughout the week.
