The Christian Democratic Students (SDM) said today they will nominate candidates for all posts in the KSU University Students' Council, which are up for election next week.

SDM president Anton D'Amato underlined the importance of the students' council and said the SDM was seeking a stronger public relations role for it.

He said SDM was concerned not only about life on campus, but also the wider picture as it affected students. It therefore felt students should have a stronger voice in national as well as university affairs.

Mr D'Amato said he did not know whether the KSU posts would be contested but hoped they would, in the interests of democracy.
