The National Student Travel Foundation (NSTF) will be holding the NSTF Science Week at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, in Valletta, between today and Saturday.

NSTF said Science Week is the peak of all science programmes offered by the foundation and is held in collaboration with the Malta Chamber of Scientists.

The event targets students, youths, young researchers and entrepreneurs from Malta.

Students' projects are exhibited and schools and the public are invited to visit the exhibition being held as part of the week of activities. It is estimated that about 4,000 school children and youths will visit throughout the week.

The opening of the event at 5 p.m. today includes the Malta Student Science Forum Symposium where the keynote speaker will be Lloyd Anderson, the British Council's director of science, engineering and environment. He will speak on Climate Change? Where And When?

NSTF has, over the past years, developed a science programme together with the Malta Chamber of Scientists and the Malta Council of Science and Technology to boost the interest of students in science and technology and encourage them to read for degrees in science and take up careers within this sphere.
