Over €3,180 raised for Tanzania

Over €3,000 were collected at Bay Street during a fundraising event for the Mission Fund Project in Tanzania. The event was held at the rotunda of the complex on March 29.

The event spread over two days and included shows featuring singers, dance groups, a display by the Malta Police corps, poster exhibitions showing Mission Fund projects in Kenya, Guatemala, Peru and this year's project in Tanzania. The public were also able to buy items from the Bazaar or sponsor a uniform for a child in Tanzania.

The 25 Mission Fund volunteers will travel to Tanzania in July where they will spend five weeks helping the construction of a school for children, most of whom have HIV. The project was requested by Sr Domenica Ciliberti, a Maltese nun working in Tanzania.
