Hunting solution
I think I have come up with the best solution which should go down well with both hunters and bird lovers.
My suggestion is that the erstwhile shooters take up hunting with bow and arrow. Now before I am accused of being sarcastic, I am saying this in all seriousness. Hunters like to quote tradition as one of their arguments when defending their right to kill birds. What could be more traditional than what I'm suggesting? Besides, there are several advantages in this type of hunting.
Arrows do not pollute the soil with lead. Arrows are reusable which means less financial burden for the hunter. Arrows are silent, meaning they do not disturb anyone's sleep. Birds have a more sporting chance. Imagine, hitting a fast moving bird with an arrow! Now that would really be something to brag about.
So, how about it? Who's game - if you'll excuse the pun?

David Borg Cardona suggests hunters dress up as Robin Hood. Well they already dress up as soldiers as if they're going out against some formidable enemy and not against a bundle of feathers.and by the way, Robin lived in Sherwood forest not the forest of Nottingham!

I think that I have a better idea than .Mr.Victor Pulis. How about split Malta in two, hunters from the south start moving up,hunters from the north start going down,and where they meet,they will start shooting to each other, and everybody will be satisfied. Let us take this matter serious. because although I am 100% and more animal lover' still we have to respect others opinion, because I am totally sure that there are lots of responsible hunters.

Not a bad idea Victor but as you well know the so called hunters would never go for it as it would give the birds a sporting chance. Much easier to just blast them to pieces with a 12 bore!
Personally I can't understand why these people refer to themselves as hunters. I've always thought of hunters as people who stalk their prey, sometimes for days and then despatch it with a single shot. Obviously there should also be a reason for shooting it in the first place.

"Steal from the rich" as David Borg Cardona commented? Hunters already steal from everyone else by indiscriminately killing birds that everyone can enjoy if left in peace in their their natural habitat.

Of course we could Victor.. Than maybe we can also dress up as Robin Hood, steal from the rich to give to the poor and take Friar Tuck along with us when we go hunting !! Then change Mizieb's name to THE FOREST OF NOTTINGHAM... U Hallina !!!!!!
