Bartolo brothers to play in Dutch baseball league

Keith and Michael Bartolo will play for the Jeka Baseball Club in Breda for the rest of the season.

Charles van der Meijs, general manager for the Dutch Division One team, was recently in Malta to finalise transfer negotiations of the brothers who play for Mellieha Northenders in the Maltese league.

The Dutch league is considered among the best in Europe. The Bartolos were presented with the Jeka jerseys during a ceremony a few days ago at the Mellieha Sports Club.

This will be a great experience for the Maltese players and a boost to the national team, currently preparing for the European qualifiers in Antwerp in July.

Keith and Michael will join their national squad team-mates in Belgium. Malta play against Switzerland, Belgium, Austria and San Marino in their group.
