Two men were yesterday granted bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000 (Lm429.18) and a deposit of €800 (Lm343.84) after they pleaded not guilty to attempted theft.

Anthony Curmi, 25, and Clayton Polidano, 24, both from Kirkop pleaded not guilty to trying to steal from a residence in Żebbuġ on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr Curmi also pleaded not guilty to causing less than €1,000 (Lm429.18) damage to the property.

Mr Polidano was also charged with committing a crime within the operative period of a suspended sentence.

Police Inspector Malcolm Bondin prosecuted.

Lawyers Joseph Giglio and Stephen Tonna Lowell were defence counsel.
