I was brought up at Birżebbuġa and left Malta in September 1951. I now live in Melbourne. My family were on the ill-fated MS Skaubryn.

Some years ago I created a website where I told the whole story in text and pictures of the last voyage of the Skaubryn to Australia. The site is www.freewebs.com/skaubryn/.

I gathered many stories and pictures so those who had relatives and friends on this ship can view the site and learn about the tragedy that took place in the Indian Ocean on March 31 and April 1, 1958.

It was truly a miracle that everyone on that ship was saved except one elderly person who suffered a heart attack. I'll never forget that day, April 1, 1958 when news of the disaster reached Melbourne.
