Malta opened their group commitments in the European Team Snooker Championship, currently being held in Glasgow, on a winning note yesterday after they beat Finland 12-6.

Alex Borg was Malta's best-performing player yesterday as he won five out of the six frames he played. Duncan Bezzina clinched four frames and lost two and Simon Zammit finished with three victories and three defeats. Tero Suvanto, Timo Salovaara and Jassi Tivonen represented Finland.
