The 15th ASA International Swim Meet, incorporating the 2008 National Championships, came to an end yesterday during which two national and three age group records were set.

After Ryan Gambin set a new mark of 1:01.69 in the 100 back on Thursday, yesterday he also claimed the national benchmark in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.79 seconds, which eclipsed the previous best of 55.15 held by Kyle Scerri since 2006.

On Friday, Talisa Pace broke the 200 freestyle Age Group 'D' record when covering the distance in 2:14.92 to clip 0.54 seconds off the previous mark set in 2005 by Francesca Paolella.

Pace also made inroads in the 100m race yesterday when she stopped the clock on 1:01.52, an improvement of 0.83 on Paolella's 2005 time in the same category.

In Age Group 'B' Matthew Zammit shaved one-hundredth of a second off Mark Sammut's previous best when he clocked 31.66 in the 100 metres backstroke.
