UK housing market details

In the US, the market's attention will be focused on the speech by Fed chairman Bernanke before the Joint Economic Committee in Congress. The publication of the ISM indices and the March payroll report will both shed more light on the state of the US economy. Factory orders and construction spending figures for February along with vehicle sales for March will complete the picture in the US.

The release of the Purchasing Manager Indices, for both the manufacturing and services sectors, will show the extent of the impact of the credit crunch. Details on the housing market via the mortgage approvals figures for February will give a glimpse into the UK economy.

In the Eurozone, area-wide M3 money supply statistics for March, the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) inflation figure, and the Eurozone's Producer Price index (PPI) data are to be released. Retail sales figures for February together with unemployment figures and a number of confidence reports will provide information on the strength of internal demand. Finally the Spanish industrial output along with the German factory orders will provide an indication of the growth capacity within the Eurozone.
