Student awarded first BoV Prize in mathematics

The first BoV Prize in Mathematics was awarded to Andre Xuereb, a student from the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Malta who achieved the highest marks in the fourth year of the B.Sc course.

Andre was presented with a certificate by Karl Spiteri, manager Corporate Branding and Quality, in the presence of Prof. Anton Buhagiar.

Speaking during the presentation Mr Spiteri said: "The concept of this initiative is to promote excellence in the subject and aims to reward those students who work hardest and achieve the best results. Education forms an important part of the bank's commitment towards the local community and is one of the main pillars within its extensive community programme."

Prof. Buhagiar also congratulated Andre on his achievement, saying that he was a consistent student who always achieved top results.

"Through this award, held in conjunction with the Faculty of Science, we encourage students to strive to achieve good results. This year we have registered some of the top marks ever achieved."
