The Malta Airgun Shooting Club (MASC) organised its first Field Target Open Class competition at Victoria Shooters Range in Qormi earlier this month.

The course of fire was 30 knockdown targets of 40mm diameter spread between 15 and 50 metres.

In field target, a competitor must hit the target and knock it down in order to score.

Alfred Cini and Gordon Gouder both scored 21 out of 30 at the end of the third round and had to contest a shoot-off for the title. Cini secured top spot at the end of the second shoot-off set.

Third place went to James Bugeja who hit 19 out of 30.

The next MASC event, a bench rest shooting competition, is scheduled for April 6.
