Labour acolytes who up the wall or facing the Wailing one after their third consecutive electoral defeat, which makes a tally of eight victories for the Nationalist Party in the last 11 elections, will eventually creep back to continue with their mission impossible.

Their endeavour is to spin all that carry a shade of blue.

Slinging mud is their favourite past-time; unfortunately, they do not know any better. It is a widely held axiom that such prattles never actually pay; however that seems to be their trade mark.

Typical examples emerge from the regular non-sense by someone who has to remind us that he teaches everything at the Department of French at the University of Malta and whose pet hates include the Christian Democrats and gonzipn; and the other guy who reminds us of Michael Crawford in the best sitcom of all times Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em but who continually dreams of Alfred Sant (a technocrat) as a Prime Minister who gets a job done. Frank Spencer is possibly reminded of his short 22-month spell as Prime Minister followed by three electoral defeats and a referendum result that he still does not fathom.

There are a few other wizards, of course, who, despite their obvious limitations, actually believe that they are the world's axis. They simply do not realise the damage they do to their favourites.

It's doubtful whether they will ever learn to air their views with a bit of style, class and elegance.

Hopefully, one day they'll come to understand gonzipn's most emphatic slogan: Yes! Together Everything Is Possible.

One wonders whether the idea of having a repetitive class for these sorts would have been useful.

They should obviously try harder then they ever did to date... After all, they have five long years to do so!
