Title hopefuls Marsaxlokk and Sliema Wanderers will be without one of their key forwards for their next league games after Ivan Woods and Aleksandar Madzar received a one-match ban yesterday.
Woods was disciplined after being sent off by referee Alan Mario Sant for dissent midway through the second half of Sliema's 2-0 victory over Hamrun Spartans last weekend. The Malta forward will have to miss the Wanderers' important match against leaders Valletta on Saturday.
Marsaxlokk striker Madzar was also hit by a one-match ban after he collected his fourth yellow card in the champions' 2-1 defeat to Birkirkara on Sunday. The Montenegro forward has been ruled out of Marsaxlokk's encounter with the Spartans, also on Saturday.
Floriana had two players on the suspensions' list yesterday, namely Serbian midfielder Zoran Levnaic and defender Julian Briffa. The two are out of the equation for the Greens' clash with Birkirkara on Sunday.
Hamrun Spartans coach Marco Gerada cannot lead his team from the dug-out in their next two Premier League outings after he was handed a two-match touchline ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner yesterday.
Gerada was suspended after being ordered off the bench because of protests by referee Sant during Saturday's defeat to Sliema at the Hibs Ground.
