Russian Orlava to conduct IAAF course at Marsa

Athletics Malta will be organising an IAAF course for technical officials between April 5 and 12.

This course, referred to internationally as the TOECS (Technical Officials Education and Certification System), is a worldwide programme intended to provide participants with the practical and theoretical training required to make them qualified to officiate at domestic events and international competitions.

A total of 33 units will be covered during the course, which will be held at the association offices and the Matthew Micallef St John track in Marsa.

Sprints, hurdles, middle and long distance (including road running and cross country), steeplechase, walks, jumps, throws and combined events are among the units included in the course's programme.

The TOECS course will be conducted by Elena Orlova, a Russian IAAF accredited lecturer.
