The two play-off matches to decide the final promotion spots in the national table tennis championship resulted in a successful night for the 'underdogs'.
The encounter between Batmen TTC (who finished seventh in Division One) and HSBC (runners-up in Division Two) ended with latter winning the match 6-3.
They had a fine maximum of three sets by Harvey Wadge, two from Paul Farrugia and a single win from promising junior William Camilleri.
The HSBC success means that they will now play in Division One next season along with the newly-promoted Fleur de Lys.
The battle for the available place in Division Two was between Diadora Birkirkara (who finished seventh in Division Two) and San Gwann Flutisat (who placed second in Division Three).
This match also finished with a 6-3 scoreline, Flutisat emerging the winners.
Noel Tagliaferro won a maximum three sets for Flutisat, Claudio Muscat added two and upcoming 14-year-old James Dawson chipped in with a set for the victors.
San Gwann Flutisat will now join section champions Melita B Cadets for promotion to Division Two.
