Mimcol appointed contact point for EU programme
Malta Investment Management Co. Ltd (Mimcol) has just been appointed Malta national contact point for the EU Competitiveness and Innovation Programme. The framework programme, which covers the period 2007-2013, aims to contribute to the competitiveness and innovative capacity of the community. Its objectives are fostering the competitiveness of enterprises, in particular that of SMEs; promoting innovation including eco-innovation; accelerating the development of a sustainable, competitive, innovative and inclusive information society; and promoting energy efficiency and new and renewable energy sources in all sectors, including transport.
The call for proposals under the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) 2008 Programme is now open.
The closing date for electronic submission of applications is June 26 at 5 p.m. About €45 million (Lm19.32 million) are available to co-finance European promotion and dissemination activities regarding energy efficiency and renewable, Mimcol said.
