Mepa meetings resume on Tuesday
All public meetings of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority board and the Development Control Commissions will resume as from Tuesday, the Principal Permanent Secretary, Godwin Grima, said yesterday.
The sittings of the Planning Appeals Board will resume this week.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, who assumed responsibility for Mepa in the aftermath of the general election, froze Mepa's decision-making process on March 12 "until further notice". A spokesman for the Office of the Prime Minister had told The Times the decision was made by Dr Gonzi as a first step in Mepa's reform which was one of the Nationalist Party's electoral pledges.

What about a revision of the permit for the ODZ Safi supermarket which led to the resignation of the DCC?
What about a revision of the hundreds of permits approved in a rush just before the election?
What about a revision of the obscene sanctioning of 15 illegal boathouses at Dwejra?
Mission accomplished, election won, business as usual.
