The Blind Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy Group, the Special Olympics Malta and St Joseph Home in Sta Venera are this year's beneficiaries of the funds collected through the BOV Employees Donation Scheme, Bank of Valletta said.
Through the initiative, bank employees set aside an amount from their monthly salary to help others. The bank matches the amount collected by employees and makes an equivalent donation under the Social Pillar of its Community Programme.
The Blind Foundation assists the blind and the partially sighted by providing broadcasting and recording facilities for them.
The Muscular Dystrophy Group provides a wide range of services and activities with a view to improving the physical, mental and social state of people suffering from muscular dystrophy while promoting research into the origin, prevention and cure of the condition.
Besides seeking to improve physical fitness, Special Olympics Malta helps athletes gain greater self-confidence and a more positive self-image.
St Joseph Home provides a stable environment for its residents through a healthy, family-like atmosphere, characterised by care and acceptance.
