A 42-year-old man was yesterday charged with trying to sell his former girlfriend's car.

Mark Lawrence Rizzo from Paola was charged with defrauding three people, producing false signatures, breaching the conditions of a previous release and relapsing.

The court, presided over by Magistrate Antonio Mizzi, heard how Mr Rizzo had borrowed his former girlfriend's Honda Crx and had tried to sell it to an auto dealer. When checks were made to complete the transfer of ownership, Mr Rizzo's former girlfriend found out that he had tried to sell her car.

The case continues.

Police Inspector Maurice Curmi prosecuted.

Lawyer Charmaine Cherrett appeared for Mr Rizzo.
