Obituary
CALLEJA. On March 23, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY, managing director of E. Calleja & Sons Ltd., aged 61, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Jacqueline née Farrugia, his children Theresa, Veronica, Maria and her fiancé Duncan Cauchi, Joseph, his brother Joe, his sisters Doris and Jane and their respective spouses, Violet widow of his brother Charles, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to The Poor Clares in St Julian's and the Discalced Carmelite Nuns in Cospicua, will be appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.
CARUANA. On March 20, JOSEPHINE, of Għaxaq, widow of Lawrence, aged 83, residing at Tarxien, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Mary and her husband John Fenech, Catherine, her son Charles and his wife Miriam residing in Australia, her sister in-law Theresa Caruana, grandchildren and their fiancés, one great-grandchild, cousins, other relatives and friends.

DEBONO. On March 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, SAVIOUR (ex-Education Officer) of Kirkop, residing at Marsascala, aged 69, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Edwige, his daughters Priscilla and her husband Mario and Portia and her husband Jesmond, grandchildren Kyle, Juan and Sean, his brothers and their families, in-laws and their families, many relatives and friends. GRIMA. On March 23, at Mater Dei Hospital, ĠIANNI (known as Ta' Ċombu), ex director of Grima Industrial Supplies, aged 77, from Msida, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Victoria, his children Joe and his wife Agnes, Benny and his wife Tonia, Philip and his wife Antoinette, Paul and his wife Maria, Rose and her partner Victor Buhagiar, Joan and her husband Twanny Borg, his sisters, in-laws, his grandchildren Reuben, Etienne, Mark, Ramona, Glen, Luke, Larissa, Pascoe, Nicole, Matthew, other relatives and friends.

MACKLIN. On March 22, NEIL, aged 32, passed away tragically as a result of a motorcycle accident. Will be sorely missed by his loving parents Alexander and Frieda Macklin, his beloved partner and best friend Lynn Simpson, other family members and many, many friends.
A memorial service will take place tomorrow at 4.30 p.m. at Naxxar parish church, followed by repatriation to Scotland the following day. Family flowers only, donations sent to Boffa Hospital, Neuro Rehabilitation Unit, will be appreciated.
VASSALLO. On March 24, JOSEPHINE, aged 83, of Valletta, residing at Sliema, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Iro and his wife Miriam, her daughters Josephine and her husband Raymond Peschel, and Miriam, her grandchildren Ashley and his wife Grace, Johann, Andrè, Audrey and Anthea and their fiancés, her brother Paul and his wife Rita, her in-laws, other relatives and friends.

First Aid courses
St John Ambulance will be holding two first aid courses from April 29. The Maltese one will commence at 9.30 a.m. and the one in English at 6.30 p.m. Each course consists of nine lectures held twice a week and lasting about two hours each. Prayer meeting
The next MIR prayer meeting will be held on April 8 at St Sebastian parish church, Qormi between 7.30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring food for Fondazzjoni Suret Il-Bniedem, the Franciscan Capuchin Foundation caring for the homeless. First Mass
The first Mass at the church of the Divine Mercy in San Pawl tat-Tarġa will be said on Sunday at 11.15 a.m. This will be followed with another Mass and adoration for devotees of the Divine Mercy on April 2 at 10.30 a.m. Donations for the church are being received at Bank of Valletta account 40016339848.

The Embassy of Portugal has launched a website which provides information about Portugal and on the relations between Portugal and Malta, together with news items and information about upcoming events. There are also various links to Portuguese and Maltese institutions. The website is located at www.embportmalta.com.
Performance dates
The management of the Catholic Institute in Floriana, is receiving applications from theatrical companies for the allocation of performance dates for the next season. Application forms can be obtained from the institute and have to be returned by Sunday, together with a script of the production and a censors' certificate.
Sale of antiques
A sale of antiques and old furniture will be held at the St Helen parish centre, Birkirkara. The sale will be open on Thursday and Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and 5 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon.
