Total cruise passenger traffic in February amounted to 2,464, a decrease of 576 passengers over the same month in 2007, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

There were no embarkations from and landings in Malta in February.

Total cruise passenger traffic in January and February amounted to 4,657, an increase of 4.9 per cent when compared to the same period in 2007.

Total traffic equalled the number of transits as there were no embarkations from and landings in Malta during the reference period.

Same-day visitors from EU countries accounted for 93 per cent of total traffic.

There was one cruise liner call in February, bringing the total in the first two months of 2008 to two.
