Special Olympics Malta, in conjunction with the Education Department, the Malta Sports Council and Special Olympics Europe-Eurasia, will be hosting its first MATP (Motor Activities Training Programme) seminar on May 27-28.
The seminar will be held at the Cottonera Sports Complex and St Benedict College in Kirkop and will be led by Dr Eleni Rossides, Special Olympics Europe-Eurasia MATP Advisor and Elaine Bonnici, Special Olympics Malta sports director.
Around 40 participants are ex-pected to attend the seminar, out of which, four are foreign Special Olympics coaches hailing from Liechtenstein, England, Bulgaria and Austria.
Other attendees include teachers and coaches from the School Promotion Unit, university students and other Special Olympics Malta coaches.
The MATP is designed for Special Olympics athletes and prepares them for specific sport activities appropriate for their abilities.
