Radisson SAS Golden Sands appointment

Island Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Tonio Aquilina as food and beverage manager for the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort and Spa.

Tonio Aquilina successfully graduated in hotel and catering management from the Institute of Tourism Studies. He then moved to York in England where he was exposed to general hotel manager duties. On his return to Malta, he joined the Dolmen Hotel and worked his way up to food and beverage manager and subsequently business development manager. During this time, he was also junior food and beverage manager at the Bellevue Palace Hotel, a leading hotel of the world in Berne, for a year.

As operations manager at the Mgarr Hotel for three years, Mr Aquilina gained experience in the five-star market. Once Mgarr Hotel closed its doors, he moved to Grand Hotel Mercure San Antonio as an operations manager.
