Obituary
LAPIRA. On March 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA, née Scicluna, widow of Roger, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Mario and Rita, her daughter Anna and her husband Andrew Attard, her dearest grandchildren Nicola and Anthony, her sister Lina, her brother Paul and his wife Winifred, her only niece Marlene Lapira, her nephews Arthur and Robert Lapira, David and John Scicluna and their families, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on March 24 at 9 a.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Lyceum Past Students' fund raiser
The Association of Lyceum Past Students (ALPS - Għaqda Ex-Studenti Liceo) will host a fund-raising buffet dinner to enhance the proceeds of this year's Lyceum Bicycle Marathon, all of which will go to Id-Dar tal-Providenza. The dinner will be held at the Marie Louise Suite of the Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort, St George's Bay, on April 4.
ALPS President George dei Conti Stagno Navarra said it was deliberately planned to hold the buffet dinner on a Friday night so that it could give patrons an opportunity to spend one or two nights at the 5-star hotel on bed-and-breakfast basis at special group prices.
The price of dinner will be €21 (Lm9.02) per person, inclusive of half a bottle of red or white wine and free flow of water. The price for a night at the hotel will be €110 (Lm47.22) per room (single or double).

UK visa services
In view of the modernisation of the visa service offered at the British High Commission in Malta, all United Kingdom applications received from March 31 will be processed by the British Embassy in Rome, under the new "hub and spoke" arrangement.
The British High Commission said that those who require a visa to enter the UK must submit all applications via the internet using the online application service (www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk).
Applicants will at the same time need to pre-book an appointment online to hand in their application. From Friday, the British High Commission in Malta will no longer accept callers who have not pre-booked an appointment.

Champiionship dogs show
The Malta Kennel Club is holding the third CAC championship show today and tomorrow at the Cottonera Sports Complex. The judge for the show will be Milvoje Urosevic from Serbia and the sponsors for the show will be Pet Nutrition who are the representatives of Almo Nature. The show starts today at 2 p.m. and continues tomorrow with the morning session starting at 9 a.m. and the afternoon session starting at 2 p.m.
KOMR Association
The KOMR Association will be holding its annual general meeting at its premises in Valletta on March 29 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be followed by a pasta lunch at the De Robertis Restaurant, Castille Hotel, Valletta.
