* Juventus striker David Trezeguet said he would like to give second-placed AS Roma a hand by beating leaders Inter at the San Siro to blow open the title race.

"The opportunity to see if we are capable of beating the best side in Serie A is an extra motivation. We can shake up the championship," the Frenchman told Juve's Website (www.juventus.com).

"I'd prefer Roma to win (the title) as they have a more spectacular way of playing." Roma trail Inter by seven points, while Juventus are 13 points behind the leaders in third. Trezeguet added that it "would have a special flavour" to beat the champions after the 2006 match-fixing scandal, which led to the Turin club being relegated to Serie B and having one of two docked titles given to Inter.

* Inter's France midfielder Patrick Vieira is a doubt for the game against his former club because of the thigh muscle strain that kept him out of Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Genoa. Serbia captain Dejan Stankovic is also uncertain because of a thigh problem.

The champions are without suspended Portuguese midfielder Pele, who was sent off at Genoa, but Italy defender Marco Materazzi is available after a one-match ban.

* Roma defender Philippe Mexes and midfielder Alberto Aquilani are suspended for the home game against strugglers Empoli, while Brazilian centre back Juan has been left out of the squad because of an ankle problem. Empoli striker Luca Saudati is serving the second part of a three-match ban for violent conduct in last week's 4-1 defeat at Atalanta.

* Kaka will not play for AC Milan at Torino, coach Carlo Ancelotti said, after the Brazilian suffered a thigh injury in Wednesday's 2-1 home defeat by Sampdoria that left the European champions four points behind fourth-placed Fiorentina in fifth.

* Torino are without injured goalkeeper Matteo Sereni, midfielder Simone Barone and captain Gianluca Comotto, who is out for the rest of the season with a knee ligament problem, as well as suspended Serbian midfielder Nikola Lazetic. * Lazio's Swiss midfielder/full back Valon Behrami, who scored a stoppage-time goal to sink cross-town rivals Roma 3-2 on Wednesday, is a doubt for the trip to Fiorentina because of a muscle strain.
