The Maltese National Commission for Unesco is inviting candidates to apply for a Unesco Fellowship tenable in 2008-2009. The Unesco Fellowships Programme provides opportunities for innovative training and high-level studies through the granting of short-term post-graduate fellowships for the benefit of Unesco's member states.

The fellowships are aimed at post-graduate candidates wishing to study abroad, to either pursue further training or undertake advanced research or upgrade skills or attend specialised refresher courses.

Candidates must have at least an undergraduate degree and must not be over 45.

Applicants are expected to have exceptional merit and to have demonstrated that they possess outstanding potential that would enable them to make a significant contribution to their country upon their return.

Applications are to reach the chairman of the Maltese National Commission for Unesco (c/o Ġużé Pullicino Building, University of Malta, Tal-Qroqq) by not later than noon on April 21. Late applications will not be considered.

Further information and application forms may be obtained from the website of the Maltese National Commission for Unesco at www.unescomalta.org.
