Jason Micallef must do as Labour's paid-up members wish him to do: Resign. I remind him that his salary is paid by these members. Are we going to wait for months before Mr Micallef, Charles Mangion and Michael Falzon step down? How come the deputy leaders are showing an interest in contesting for the post of party leader? After all they are part of the defeated leadership. How can they expect widespread respect from the delegates and the people?

Perhaps the deputy leaders are trying to send a message to the people: That the electoral defeat should be blamed entirely on Alfred Sant.
