WasteServ Malta will be donating surplus heat energy produced by the Sant’ Antnin Waste Treatment Plant in Marsascala to Razzett tal-Hbiberija. Razzett is situated adjacent to the plant. The philanthropic organisation will be saving around €12,000 per annum through WasteServ’s initiative.
“Razzett tal-Hbiberija would like to show its appreciation to Wasteserv for this support which will help us no end in saving on energy bills,” said Mark Sultana, General Manager at Razzett tal-Hbiberija. “Wasteserv and Razzett tal-Hbiberija might seem to be different organizations but we both exist to improve the quality of life of society. We also both treasure the value of reducing waste. Being a charitable organisation, Razzett tal-Hbiberija strives to be as cost efficient as possible in order to achieve the best results with the limited funding it has.”
Sant’ Antnin will be producing energy through the treatment of municipal solid waste.
“WasteServ’s initiative in favour of Razzett tal-Hbiberija is just an additional way of showing care about the Maltese community,” said Ing. Vince Magri, Chief Executive Officer, WasteServ Malta Ltd. “We hope to be able to extend this type of support to other organisations, once renewable energy increasingly becomes part and parcel of WasteServ’s remit.”
