Engineering and ICT undergraduate students were addressed by speakers from academia and industry on issues such as technical report-writing, postgraduate study opportunities, management skills and the experiences of engineers working in a number of companies, during a well-attended half-day student professional awareness conference (SPAC) held on March 5 at the Engineering lecture theatre at the University's Faculty of Engineering.

Personnel from Crimsonwing, Lufthansa Technik, Methode, ST Microelectronics, Toly Products and Uniblue later answered student queries on job opportunities and the six companies also put up a poster presentation.

The conference was organised by the University student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and was one in a series of activities, which include as industrial visits and social events, that the branch holds throughout the academic year to enhance relations between industry and students following technical and engineering degrees.
