Pupils in Years 4 and 5 at De La Salle College, Cottonera, recently used a Skype link, Internet and webcam to share ideas and play with counterparts at St Thomas of Canterbury, Chester.

Apart from sharing the outcomes of activities they undertook in connection with a Comenius project on the theme 'The Wonders of Water', which involves five European schools in Malta, England, Germany, Poland and Finland, the pupils used the technology to communicate with each other about themselves, their families, pets and hobbies.

Technology in education has opened new dimensions to learning, and the immediacy of it all fills children with enthusiasm and makes them eager to strengthen links with new friends abroad.
