Nationalist MP John Dalli has just entered the Auberge de Castille, in the clearest signal yet that he may be about to join the Cabinet, almost four years since he resigned.
The other MPs who have been summoned to the Office of the Prime Minister so far are Tonio Borg, Austin Gatt, Dolores Cristina, George Pullicino, Giovanna Debono, Carm Mifsud Bonnici, Tonio Fenech, Jason Azzopardi, Clyde Puli, Mario Galea, Mario de Marco, Joe Cassar and Chris Said.
Dr Said, Mayor of Nadur, Gozo, is the only one of them who does not have parliamentary experience, having been elected for the first time on Saturday.
All the others were ministers or parliamentary secretaries except Dr Azzopardi and Mr Puli who headed the parliamentary committees of foreign affairs and social affairs respectively in the last Parliament, Dr de Marco, who was chairman of committees of the House, Mr Galea, who was whip of the Nationalist parliamentary group and Dr Cassar, who was first elected to the House five years ago.
There has been no statement yet on what responsibilities the new ministers will be given.
