New beginning for MLP?

After the previous general election, I had written to this newspaper asking the MLP to change their leadership, or face another loss. I had claimed that their leadership was a serial loser.

I have been proven right. The Malta Labour Party will never ever be voted into government if they do not elect a leader of the same calibre as Lawrence Gonzi.

Alfred Sant had no credibility with the electorate. He has lost three elections, a referendum, and has left Labourites without a government all this time.

I wish him well but thank him for giving us a new beginning by resigning from the leadership. We have no regrets about his leaving.

Now, the writing is on the wall for the MLP. Elect a political joke again and face 25 more years in opposition, awarding a "monarchy" to Malta.

This is the bottom line for the MLP. Grasp the new beginning given to us by Dr Sant, and elevate the party to the first division. Malta stands to gain by this chance.

I am waiting to see but I know the MLP chances are they will fail.
