Germany said that discussions over a golden share for Europe's aerospace and defence company EADS are continuing.

A government spokesman said Germany and France had been in talks since last year over how to safeguard government interests in the flagship company.

"As far as I know the talks have not yet finished," spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm told a regular news conference.

The Financial Times reported that France and Germany are finalising changes to EADS's corporate-by-laws to prevent foreigners from building large stakes in the company.
