The Fjur t'Assisi choir celebrated its ninth anniversary with a thanksgiving Mass by Fr Guardian Karm Dimech at the Capuchins' church in Victoria last Sunday. The choir sang works arranged by George Cremona and Marita Cassar.

A reception followed at the convent courtyard.

The choir was set up by Fr Paul Bugeja and the present director, George Cremona. At first, the choir sang during liturgical functions at the Capuchins' church, but eventually it diversified its activities, successfully participating in various festivals in Gozo.

Recently it took part in the annual International Choir Festival organised by the Interkultur Foundation and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, in which it won a bronze medal. The Fjur t'Assisi choir also launched two CDs - Omm il-Grazzja (2001) and Tifkiriet (2004).
