The Scout Association of Malta has designed a medal to mark its 100th anniversary.

The medal, which will be presented to both past and present members, is metal based and silver plated.

Application forms to purchase the medal are available only from the Chief Commissioner. The medal costs €10 but overseas applicants are being asked to pay an additional €6 to cover postage and registration.

The association is appealing to persons who have archival items of whatever kind to donate them to its archives. It is also inviting former members to participate in a rally to be held in Valletta on May 4 to mark the anniversary. Malta was the first overseas branch of the movement which later spread around the world. Scouting was founded in 1907 by Lord Baden-Powell.

Those interested in joining in the celebrations should contact the Chief Commissioner, Godwin D'Anastasi on dagodwin@onvol.net or godwin60@gmail.com or on mobile 7927 0545, Charles Grixti on charles@scoutshopmalta.com or Paul Vella on paulvella@onvol.net.

The association's postal address is Congreve Memorial Hall l, E.S. Tonna Square, Floriana.
