Hamas claims responsibility for Jerusalem attack
Hamas Islamists claimed responsibility for a shooting attack at a Jewish religious school in Jerusalem that killed eight people, a Hamas official said.
"The Hamas movement announces its full responsibility for the Jerusalem operation. The movement will release the details at a later stage," the official told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

For every rocket that Hamas fire into Israel, the Israelis retaliate by firing back ten; for every Jewish life that Hamas take, the Jews retaliate by killing ten. It does not take a mathematical genius to work out the way the imbalance runs. Yet Hamas persists in its negative strategy which is not proving to be any kind of solution for the pitiful state of conditions of the Gaza Strip and its poor citizens. Cannot the Hamas leadership realise this? Does Hamas believe it has the "admiration" of the rest of the world? My personal admiration is for the poor and long-suffering people of Gaza who have to bear the brunt of reprisals for the foolish strategy of their leaders. This is an honest and heartfelt opinion.
