The Electoral Commission said today that the use of mobile phones, cameras or other photographic equipment is prohibited in polling places.

Anyone taking photographs / video without authorization shall have his/her equipment confiscated.

The Commission said the voting hours for the General and Local Councils Elections are between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. without interruption.

Voters who shall be going abroad on that same day may skip the queue. These persons have to present their flight or sea tickets to the police officer in charge at the polling centre. Any person who impedes or prevents the free exercise of a voter’s right to vote in these elections shall be guilty of an offence according to law, the commission warned.
